Who can do CrossFit?

Anyone can do CrossFit!

CrossFit workouts have been designed for soldiers and high school kids, Iron-men and couch potatoes, grandmothers and grand masters. The CrossFit approach challenges you at your current level of fitness and progresses you to achieve a greater level of conditioning. The only limitation is what you put on yourself.

What will I be doing?

Each session will contain:

  • Warm up focusing on skills and technique
  • Strength and conditioning component
  • Main WOD (Workout Of the Day)
  • Cool down and stretch

What is a WOD?

WOD stands for “Workout of the Day".

Every day we post a workout on the website which is the main work component of the sessions that will be coached that day at Southbridge CrossFit. Everyone at Southbridge CrossFit is expected to complete the same WOD every day. This is what makes us a community and ensures that everyone is exposed to the complete Southbridge CrossFit programming.

Will I get big and bulky like a bodybuilder?

No, unlike bodybuilders, who train in a more isolated, specific way, we train using functional movements, movements that your body was designed to do. CrossFit is the most superior way to build strength, burn fat, and increase cardio capacity.

Do I have to book into a session?

Yes, you do need to book into each session and this is done through Wodify.

Wodify is a purpose built CrossFit software which manages booking along with other features. You can download the Wodify apps on your smart phone or tablets where you can make your bookings. If you don’t have access to these apps simply use the wodify icon on our website.

Do I have to complete Southbridge CrossFit 101?

We now integrate Southbridge 101 fundamental movements into your first few sessions.

New members receive extra support during WOD sessions, until they are deemed competent in CrossFit movements by our instructional staff.

Can I use the gym anytime?

If you have full membership you can use the gym at any time during opening hours. The only time you are not permitted to use the gym is if there are sessions in progress. This is to ensure no one interferes the running of a session and safety.

How many members can come to each session?

Each session will be capped at 20 members, excluding yoga and Saturday team sessions.
